She graduated from Salem High School in 1954. In 1957, she spent some time with her sister in Long Beach, California; it was there that she received her nursing degree. Joella came back to Salem and worked for more than 30-years at Salem Hospital. Her passion in life was caring for people. She was also a member of Salem Central Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Joella was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings (two brothers and two sisters). She is survived by her sister, Gayadella "Gay" Holmes of Keizer, and many, many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held for Joella on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 1:30pm at Restlawn Memory Gardens in West Salem. Family and friends are all welcome to attend. A celebration of life will occur at a later date.
