John Charles Erickson

July 29, 1944 – March 8, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of John Charles Erickson on March 8, 2025. Born on July 29, 1944, John was a man of deep faith, strong patriotism, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and his beloved dogs, Bronson and Shasta.

John’s life was guided by his love for God and his country, and he carried these values in everything he did. Whether sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or simply enjoying time outdoors with his dogs, he made a lasting impact on those who knew him.

Though some paths in life led to distance, John’s heart always held love for his family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Michelle Erickson and his son Vernon John Erickson. He is survived by his daughter Laurie Erickson, his sons Jim and David Erickson, and his five grandchildren. He is also remembered by many dear friends.

A service to celebrate John’s life will be held on March 24, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Salem, Oregon, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. A graveside service with full military honors will follow at Willamette National Cemetery. A private viewing will be held at Virgil T. Golden Mortuary at 9 a.m.

John’s legacy of faith, love, and integrity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
