The family moved to Salem in 1949.
John graduated from North Salem High School and attended two years of college.
John loved animals, was an avid sports fan, and “grooved” 50’s to 80’s music.
He owned John’s Paint and Paper from 1978 to 1996.
John was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Jim.
John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia (Powers) Simpson, his daughter, Kim Bixby (of Albany), Kim’s husband Matt, and their two children, Suzanna and Mason.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Assistance League or the Willamette Humane Society would be appreciated.
John’s celebration of life will be held at 11:00am Monday 12/23/13 at Howell Edwards Doerksen with Rigdon Ransom - 1350 Commercial Street SE, Salem.
