Joe was raised in both Socorro, New Mexico and Silverton, Oregon where he attended school. He married his sweetheart, Susan (Bradshaw) on June 14, 1960 in New Mexico where they began their family. They returned to Silverton and expanded and raised their family. Joe worked drywall construction for 20 years and then went to work janitorial maintenance for the State of Oregon for 19 years before his retirement in 2013. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Susan Brown, their children; Carmella, Ellen, Laura and James along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and by his sister, Martha.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Belcrest Memorial Park and a Celebration of Joe’s Life will follow at 3:00 pm at the Mission Mill Museum Dye house. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Humane Society.
