Salem ~ Juanita was born to Fletcher and Stella Starnes in Blanchard, Oklahoma. She grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas, before relocating to Oregon in 1956. She retired from Chemeketa Community College in the early 1980’s. Juanita enjoyed reading, gardening, camping, sewing, and sports. She possessed an extensive vocabulary and excelled at crossword puzzles. Juanita loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Don Starnes; sisters Elaine Nunemaker and Barbara Carter; and son Alan Myers. Juanita is survived by her son Roger Duffey, daughter Ann Anderson (John), grandsons Barry and Damon Myers and Tyler Brost, granddaughter Elizabeth Heuberger, two great-grandsons and one great-great-grandson.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the caring staffs of Farmington Square and Signature Hospice. Viewing to be held Monday, August 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service 1 p.m. at Belcrest Memorial Park.
