Kathleen was born in Portland Oregon on July 17th 1928 and died on March 11th 2025 in Salem, OR. She graduated from Reed College and The University of Chicago Law School.
Kathleen served more than 30 years in the office of Legislative Council and was a 50 plus year Member of the Oregon State Bar. She served as an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern College of Law. After retirement, Kathleen did Pro Bono work with Marion-Polk Legal Aid. Before retirement, Kathleen was active in a number of civic organizations, including Salem City Club, AAUW, OPRI and The Oregon Geographic Names Board. Before and after retirement she Traveled extensively.
Her parents, Oliver C. and Elizabeth Thompson Fursman preceded her. She is survived by close Cousins, with special appreciation to David N. Oliver III. At her request, there was no services. Internment was at Restlawn Cemetery with arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Services. The Family suggests remembrances might be made to the Marion-Polk Food Share or the Oregon Capital Foundation.
