God began working in Kris’ heart from a young age. Kris & her husband, Steve, moved to Salem when they were married in 1978 to meet with those who now meet at Macleay Christian Retreat as BCC Salem (www.brunstadchurch.us). Here Kris & Steve received tremendous help to follow Jesus on the way he went while he was in flesh and blood. Heb 2:14, 5:7-9, 4:15-16, I Pet 4:1-2. Throughout the years, Kris went that way and grew in a life of God. Thus she became a blessing for many - a wonderful wife and “…a joyful mother of children” (Ps. 113:9) as well as a caring and encouraging friend of many.
Her family will greatly miss her: Beloved wife of Steven R Heneveld. Dear and greatly loved mother to: Gretchen (Matthew), Joshua (Ruth Anne), Jennifer (Martin), Steven (Maryanne), Gregory (Marit), Andrew (Abby), Ruthanne, Andrea, Timothy, Kurt, Samuel, Janice, Lynnette, Kara, Tracey and Karl; cherished grandmother to 16 grandchildren: Philip, Benjamin, Hannah, Kate, Christian, Owen, Nora, Brooklyn, Kyron, Mia, Macy, Lexi, Kyle, Allie, Kaylee, and Brandon. Greatly loved daughter to Roger and Marianne Sackett and dear sister to David Sackett and Kathy Adams.
Kris especially enjoyed volunteering with her friends at Blazer & Timbers games and other fundraising activity for Pivot Point Inc. Therefore any gifts are requested by check payable to Pivot Point Inc. (P.O. Box 17652, Salem, OR 97305).
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 2nd at 10AM and is open to all who would like to attend. Our facility, Macleay Christian Retreat, is rented so we will be renting the Seventh Day Adventist Church at 5575 Fruitland Rd NE, Salem, OR 97317 for the funeral.
