Dearest brother Steve,

Kurt has shared a picture and short update on Kris's condition and we understand that she is close to departing to the place that is so much better. 
She has clearly run her race having finished the course, and will meet her Righteous Judge to receive the crown of life, the reward of her faithfulness. 
Though the loss to you and the children will of course be great, the joy of where she is and that you will meet her soon must also be very great.
"Precious in the sight of The Lord is the death of His saints. 
There have certainly been few who have passed through this life so wholly given to The Lord as her and those disciples who have forsaken all out of love for the master. 
She leaves behind a tremendous testimony in your children, who in large part, will continue her life here on earth through the qualities of life which she has imparted to them. 
May the God of all comfort together with the prayers of the saints uphold you all in faith and endurance in this trying time. 
Thank you for your testimony and faithfulness both now and throughout all the years. It has always been a joy to my heart to be with you dear brother, from the early days during the revival, until now.

Mom passed away within the last hour.  She was comfortable in her bed upon her passing.  Most of the kids had been to see her within the last hours of her life.  We cherish every fond memory and we are thankful that she is now more free to bless without the limits of her body.
We hoped that you would update the Facebook group account for us so that you could have the opportunity to find out before your kids.

A short greeting for Kris Heneveld's Memorial Feast. 
My dear, precious friends! 
More than 30 years have passed since the first time I met Kris and Steve, and I still remember the impression Kris made on me. She was so radiantly happy because she had found the way to heaven! She had found her way to the good news, the glad tidings. And there was a purity and a conviction that radiated from her which was clearly God-given. Through all the years since that time, she has walked on the way of the cross, the way of the mighty, the royal way, into the God's Father-heart, She gave birth to 16 children and received every single child as a gift from heaven and treated them as such She has truly been a light and she also passed away as a light - quietly and peacefully. Now she is at home with Jesus, and He Himself has welcomed her into His glory. Now she is waiting together with the other spirits of just men made perfect to receive her glorified body, when she receives it she will again be able to communicate with us and will be a useful servant for Jesus in the millennium. There is only a thin veil between us and them. The apostle says that we too have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God. Heb 12:22-24 
All of you children now have a mother in heaven who is always with you and is praying for your faith; she will be close by you in all life's tribulations and trials. She is one of those who is now crying out to us who are still in the battle: Fight, endure until you receive your crown! I want to greet you all with these comforting words that Paul wrote with wisdom and enthusiasm (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18): "But I do not want you to be ignorant brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first, Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore, comfort one another with these words," May God mightily strengthen and bless each one of you in the days to come so that you in love, care, and goodness can look out for each other in your mutual grief and loss. May the arms of God and the arms of the friends embrace you today and in the days ahead!

Dear brother Steve and all your dear children,

Here are just a few inadequate but sincere words to say how much we are thinking about you, and pray that God will powerfully comfort you all at this time. Can we say that it was the right time, and God prepared you for this hour? Now your dear wife is being abundantly and eternally comforted, and rewarded, for all the sufferings she went through as a hero of faith on behalf of the rest of the body of Christ. 

I can imagine that you are very glad for her and for all the precious memories of your time together, but who can really appreciate the sense of loss felt by those who were closest? I can only say, God bless you mightily, dear brother and give you grace to strengthen your children in this night of sorrow until joy comes in the morning, because God, His Son and the Holy Spirit are all comforters to the highest degree, each in Their own way. God is the God of all comfort, Jesus can comfort us with the same comfort He received in times of need and sorrow, and the Holy Spirit is able to bring that comfort to us. May that be your experience at this time, and may you and your children be comforted in Jerusalem. Isaiah 66: 13.

It won’t be so long before we will be forever together with the Lord.

Dear brother Steve and the family.

With deep sorrow and compassion we learned the Kris went to be with the Lord. We just want to say that we are with you in our prayers, and we know that God makes no mistakes. Life is short, even if we live 100 years, and  heaven is a much better place. Kris meant so much to so many, and as a mother and grandmother she is irreplaceable. I myself lost my mom when I was 7, and I know a little of what that means. We see however, that even if God jealously longs for the spirit that he made to live in us, he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."* How wise it is to humble oneself under the mighty hand of God, and find ones comfort in Christ. I have seen God`s goodness in my life, and I am sure God will also see to the youngest children in your family.
The price for a good relationship we must pay the parting day. The better the relationship has been, the deeper the feeling of loss. 
God bless you Steve, and keep you up by the power of God through faith unto salvation.

Years ago, when the oldest children went to Kennedy Elementary,  Kris gave me an oval bowl that had strawberries printed all around the outside of the dish.  Every spring, I serve the first strawberries of the season in that bowl and think of Kris, Steve and the kids.   It is such a happy memory.  Thank you, God, for the many memories of Kris, and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, the family, at this time.   Glenda Melton, retired principal.

During my years working at Kennedy Elementary Kris Heneveld would come with the younger children to school events.   It was such a delight to see Kris with her children, like stairsteps in a row.  They were immaculate, dressed nicely, the girls hair braided, mannerly & all very bright.   She was a wonderful mom & did very well raising her children.
