

Laura was born in to the Court Street Christian Church family of Salem, Oregon on May 27, 1941. She graduated from South Salem High School and was married to Jerry Watson at Court Street Church on October 25, 1958.
Laura worked as an accountant for the Eugene School District to put Jerry through Architecture School at the University of Oregon. They then returned to Salem where she earned a Associates in Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Chemeketa College. Laura was instrumental in originating the Court Street Church Kindergarten Program and was it's first Teacher. She later worked in Admissions at Chemeketa as an accountant, retiring in 1998.
Laura and Jerry were collector's. She had many collections including a very extensive Bauer Pottery collection. She also collected antique furniture, steamer trunks, canning jars, quality tea cups, fine glass ware, cheese glasses, old kitchen tools, spice tins, children's toys, advertising yard sticks and books on collecting. After she retired, she bought and sold antiques and collectibles at the Salem and Reckreall Flea Markets in addition to having a space in the Bonanza Antique Mall. She could be found every Friday and Saturday searching Garage Sales for her collections and for items to re-sale. She and Jerry made several extensive trips across the country traveling the two lane and searching Antique Stores and Malls. They also could be found at local area antique auctions.
Laura is survived by her Father, Frank Moore who is 104 years young, Husband Jerry, Sons Jairus and Frank all of Salem, Daughter Rebecca Gray of Newberg, nine grand children, plus two from her exchange student, and four great grand children.
There will be a Celebration of Life service at Court Street Christian Church, 1699 Court Street, Salem, Oregon, on October 25th at 2:00 PM.
