Lydia Gail Jackson, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2026. Born on August 31, 1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana, she was the beloved daughter of her late parents, and a cherished member of the Jackson and Goodrich families.
Lydia's journey through life was as varied and vibrant as her personality. She attended Benton High School where she played basketball and was actively involved in clubs with full Tiger spirit. She wrote and was awarded a grant for an independent living program for high schoolers in the Salem school district, a testament to her dedication and her belief in the transformative power of education.
A woman of faith, Lydia served her church faithfully and found joy in the fellowship of her church communities of Trinity Lutheran and Queen of Peace. But her love extended beyond the walls of her place of worship. She was the type of person who made everyone around her feel loved and cherished. She had a knack for making even the simplest moments special, whether that was bowling, playing bunko with friends, embarking on a new travel adventure, celebrating holidays, or cheering on her beloved Ducks at a game.

Her kind, loving nature along with her deeply held convictions made for robust conversations. She was a beacon of light to all who knew her and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
