Marianne Malarkey McNally died on November 20, 2024 at her home in Salem surrounded by her husband and children. She had been bravely and fiercely battling breast cancer since 2009. Marianne was born in Portland, Oregon on August 3, 1964, to Donald George Malarkey and Irene Moore Malarkey. She was the baby of the family, with one brother, Michael, and two sisters, Martha and Sharon. She moved to Salem with her parents in 1977.
Marianne met Dan in high school and they dated for a couple of years. They crossed paths again in early 1988 and were married on February 25, 1989. They had two children together, Kyle and Erin.
Marianne's first career was as a manicurist, opening the All Jazzed Up salon with her business partner in 1991. She became a realtor in 2000 and built a very successful career, even winning the Willamette Valley Realtor of the Year award just days before her passing. Just as important as her work, Marianne dedicated her life to serving others. She belonged to many industry groups, which allowed her to give back to the community in many way, from hosting food drives to starting and running Salem's Breast Cancer Support Group for the past 11 years.
Her greatest hobby and joy was raising two amazing children and supporting them in all their endeavors, primarily sporting events, but also music, scouts, and many other activities. She enjoyed quilting, tending to her garden, and visiting with friends.
Marianne is survived by her husband Dan McNally, her son Kyle McNally and his wife Bailey, her daughter Erin McNally and her husband Alan, her sisters Martha Serean and Sharon Hill, and many nieces and nephews.
