Marion "Mimi" Lee Stang

Mimi, 82 passed away after a brief, but valiant fight with Dementia on September 16, 2023. Mimi was born September 30, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa to Brail and Neva Wright, living most of her childhood in Algona, Iowa.

Mimi enrolled at Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa majoring in Business Administration. Coe College is where she met Ted Stang. They were married August 27, 1960 and just celebrated 63 years together.

Following 8 years as an Air Force officer's wife, they settled in Salem, Oregon 1968.

Mimi was involved in many charitable organizations during her life. She was a 39 year member of Salem-Keizer Assistance League (Pres. and Board) Library Foundation Board, Lee Mission Cemetery Board, Oregon Archives, Santiam Girl Scout Board (Pres.), National Daughter's of the American Revolution, King's Valley Association (Pres. and Board). She was a 55 year member of the Salem United Methodist Church. In addition, she was a 65 year member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority.

Mimi is preceded in death, by her parents, brothers Bill and Bob and beloved grandson, Duncan Foreman. She is survived by her husband, Ted, children Terri (David), Toby (Cindy), and grandchildren, Tyler, Brandon and Payton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salem-Keizer Assistance League, Willamette Valley Hospice or a charity of choice. A celebration of life will be held, October 7, 2023 1 PM at Virgil T. Golden funeral home.

We will forever miss this loving lady, who always had a kind word and an affectionate smile for all.
