I'm sorry to hear of Aunt Maxine passing. I always thought of her as the rock of your family. I know too well how hard it is to deal with us Davis men but she did it well. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, Rick, Roseanne, and your families.

I met dear Maxine whilst I was a patient at Avamere in spring of 2018. We quickly became friends, and 'lunch buddies'. Everyone that worked there shared a great affection for Maxine as well. She was such a sweet and positive force of nature, even when things weren't going so well. When I was discharged, I would go visit her, and started to do crafts with some of the other residents on Fridays- Maxine would always come to play with us, and created some wonderful works of art. Maxine is the reason I decided to dedicate the next part of my working life to helping seniors and others with disabilities find joy and purpose. I will always treasure the time I had with Max- all of our chats, songs, crafts, and me sneaking her extra sprinkles for her ice cream. She was the best.

I remember we were visiting a long time ago I think I was about 8 or 9 and we had a puppy named Marmaduke well I got to ride along on one of Aunt Maxine's school bus routes with him in a box. She said that she didn't like the ride very well but I was happy to be with her.
