Michael "Mike" Kuper lived a life defined by love, loyalty, and an appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He passed away leaving behind a family who adored him and countless friends who were better for having known him.
Mike was first and foremost a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. For more than 40 years, he shared a loving marriage with his wife, Bev, whose companionship and love were among his life's greatest blessings. Together they built a family rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering support.
Mike found peace and happiness in the outdoors. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping and bowhunting, but fishing became his greatest passion. Whether casting a line on a quiet morning or simply enjoying the beauty of nature, he found contentment in the outdoors. Those moments reflected who Mike was—a man who appreciated God's creation, cherished good company, and never needed much more than family, friends, and the water to feel at home.
Above all else, Mike treasured the people in his life. His family and friends were the center of his world, and he never missed an opportunity to tell them how much they meant to him.
In the final message he shared with those he loved, Mike wrote:
"I enjoyed this ride every day of my life, especially when I was around my family and friends and loved ones. You made my world turn, and I know it was a good turn. I just want to say I love you. I don't know if I'm going to miss you, but I know I'm going to be happy to be around you when you get to where I'm going. Love you always… your brother, your friend."
Those words perfectly capture the man Mike was. He lived with gratitude, loved deeply, and faced the end of his journey with peace, faith, and hope.
Mike leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his wisdom, his quiet strength, his sense of humor, and the countless memories made around campfires, on fishing trips, and at family gatherings. His legacy is not only found in the stories he leaves behind, but in the love he gave so freely and the example he set for those who knew him.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in celebrating a life well lived. We are grateful for every moment we shared with him and hold onto the promise that one day we will be together again.
Rest peacefully, Mike. Thank you for the love you gave, the life you lived, and the memories that will remain with us always.
