She was born to the late Henry and Elsie Ream on February 13, 1934, in Sioux City, IA.
Monarae was fortunate enough to have had two amazing husbands that adored her. She married Alan Gralapp in 1953,and gave birth to four beautiful children. She was happily married for 10 years. Alan preceded her in death 1963. On November 4, 1967, she married Donald Krehwisch and they had 40 lovely years together. Donald preceded her in death in 2008. She always said God blessed her with the two “loves of her life”.
She loved her family dearly, and throughout the years, created many family traditions that continue to bring joy to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She took pride in her appearance, wearing beautiful clothing with perfectly matched jewelry. She was truly beautiful inside and out. She enjoyed nature, and loved hand feeding peanuts to the birds and squirrels in her backyard. In her later years, she enjoyed line dancing, bean bag baseball, and playing games with her family on her iPad.
Monarae had a strong faith in God. She read her Bible daily and supported her Catholic Church by serving communion at Sunday Mass, cooking for the priests and being on the Prayer Committee for the sick. She felt a lot of pride in being an American and made sure to personally thank every military man and woman she passed. She continually made donations to support the war heroes, those injured in war, as well as financial support to her political party.
She is survived by her four children: Michael Gralapp, Cindy Luedtke, Debbie Nuckolls, and Kathy Kelbel; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 10:30am at St. Edwards Catholic Church, 5303 River Road N, Keizer, OR 97303.
