

Nancy Flynne, 71, passed away on May 10, 2021 at her home in Portland, Oregon. Born in 1949 to Harry T. and Margaret Flynne in Jersey City, New Jersey, Nancy married and moved west with her husband and two oldest daughters. Arriving in Aumsville, Oregon, Nancy and her family soon began attending Bethel Baptist Church where her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ was cultivated and grew. While living in Aumsville, Nancy’s two younger children were born. Nancy spent a short 2 years in Pennsylvania and returned to her beloved Santiam Canyon and the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Nancy was a professionally trained clown “Paddy” who participated in local parades and events. As Paddy, she also taught classes for children on the healthy display of emotions through the Salem Public Library. Nancy served as North Salem High School’s Band Booster President and head chaperone as well as the head chaperone for the Salem Argonauts for many years. Nancy graduated from Linfield College with a degree in Business Information Systems. She spent much of her career at Chemeketa Community College and the City of Salem Data Center and retired from The Standard Insurance Company. Nancy was a longtime member of Salem Heights Church in Salem, Oregon and participated through the decades in her small group, Senior Saints, the kitchen ministry, multiple Bible studies, and more. She also participated in Bible Study Fellowship for a number of years. Nancy is survived by her four children, Tracey (Salem), Kate (Portland), Christine (Itasca, Texas), and Joe (Salem), seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
