Nell Hunter

She is survived by her daughters Mary “Fran” Mendenhall of Visalia, CA, Shirley Hackley of The Villages Fl, her son Ronald Hunter of Turner and , and her sister Ila Brown of Campbell, CA, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband of 52 years Walter “Mutt” Hunter and siblings, Nelson, Dan, Olen.

She met her husband in Campbell, Ca in 1950 and they were married on November 4th of that year. Nell Moved to Turner in 1950 with her husband and son and resided there until her death. She was a homemaker who spent her days caring for her family, cooking, canning, sewing, and gardening. She loved to read and cold often be found in her recliner engrossed in a historical or inspirational romance novel.

Services will be held at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors on Commercial St SE in Salem Oregon. They will be on Friday February 1st at 10:30 am and will be officiated by her nephew John Haggerty. There will also be a viewing on Thursday January 31st from 4pm to 7pm. A reception will be held at Nell’s home after the services.
