

Patricia Ann Gigliotti Balcavage, 86, Passed away on January 3, 2022, at her new home in Salem Oregon with her son by her side. She was born July 30, 1935, with her twin brother Paul John Gigliotti, to Stephen A. and Audrey L. Bartle Gigliotti. She attended school in Rome and graduated from RFA in 1953. Patricia worked at the Rome State School for 20 years. She was an honored employee who taught special needs kids physical education using the Montessori method. She was a world traveler and a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, playing piano and organ during worship services. In 1972, she married Kenneth F Balcavage and became a mother to his two daughters, Renee and Sheree Balcavage. In 1974 she had a son, Michael. She would travel across the U.S., to be close to granddaughters and because of her husband’s career, but Rome would always remain her home.
In 1995, she returned to her grandmother’s house on Kossuth St. to be a caregiver to her mother and father and to be close to her grandsons. In 2004, her husband and father passed, and then her mother the following year. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution and served as their Chaplin. She always had a passion for service, teaching Sunday school and driving for Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her brother; Paul John Gigliotti, daughters; Renee L. (Balcavage) Alphin and Son-in-law Patrick, Sheree (Balcavage) Northrup, her son; Michael A. Balcavage and Daughter-in-law Andrea, her grandchildren; Charesa Alphin, Ashli (Alphin) Reznicek and husband Daniel, Joshua Northrup, Arron John Northrup, Jillian Balcavage, Fiona Balcavage, and one great grandchild; Everett Reznicek. As well as two Nieces, a Nephew, and their children.

Internment will be at Rome Cemetery with a graveside service in May 20th.
