1919-2016
Patricia (Pat) was born in Manhattan Kansas to Edwin Hugh Cravens and Jane (Baldwin) Cravens and grew up in Excelsior Springs Missouri where her father was a civic leader and President of the Clay County Bank. She attended William Woods College where her father was a Trustee and the University of Kansas where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Moving to Salem Oregon in 1945, she was a long time employee of Meier and Frank, retiring in 1984 from the company and was an avid golfer into her late 80’s. For the past eight years Pat lived at Redwood Heights where she enjoyed many activities and new friends.
Patricia is survived by her daughter Sandra DeCapito, son Richard Gemmell (wife Kristina Larson), brother Dr. Richard B. Cravens (wife Judy) and nephews Sherman and Todd Cravens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Gemmell, sister Jane Cravens Stavenau and her first husband Wayne DeCaptio.
No memorial will be held. Donations may be made in her name to the Willamette Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
