Patricia Pearson, age 86, of Salem, Oregon passed away on Saturday May 23, 2020. She was born in Owensville, Indiana on August 3, 1933 and spent her early childhood there. In 1956, she graduated from Deaconess Nursing School in Evansville, Indiana.
Following her graduation, she worked for over thirty years as a Registered Nurse. She worked in Evansville, Indiana and continued her work when she moved to Southern California in 1988. As a nurse, she worked in the OR specialty areas, such as open heart, trauma, orthopedics, maxillofacial, and eye surgery. She also supervised surgical techs and nursing students.
Patricia was married to Gene Pearson, who preceded her in death in 1972. The family enjoyed taking vacations where they traveled through almost every state in the union. She is survived by their two children, Stephanie Pearson of Dallas, Oregon, and David Pearson of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Christopher Gleason of Dallas, Oregon, Abbie Pearson and Nathan Pearson of Tampa, Florida; great-grandchild Jonathan Forbes of Moorpark, California; and her youngest sister, Shirley Parker of Stayton, Oregon.
After retiring from nursing, Patricia moved to Salem, Oregon to assist her mother, Lillian Garrett. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Salem, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafting, reading, and other various activities. Although there were some hints in the past, her children were surprised to find out that she was such an avid baseball fan; originally rooting for the Los Angeles Dodgers, then the Seattle Mariners, and her latest interest was the Toronto Blue Jays, as her grandson, Nate Pearson, is a pitcher for the team.
