

She was born in Hillsboro, Kansas, on November 11, 1933, to her parents Erwin R. and Esther Marion (Harms) Penner. Pat graduated from Hesston College (High School) in Kansas and went on to get a 2 year degree at Grace Bible College in Omaha, Nebraska, with a focus on music.
Pat married Nathan Wayne Widmer on June 5, 1952.
Pat had her first job at a creamery after graduating high school. She talked her father into letting her drive the car to work, about 5-6 miles from their farm. She also worked for New York Life Insurance and an auto insurance company as a typist Pat played the piano or organ for several different churches she attended over the years and taught piano lessons. When children came along, she devoted her time to being a mother and homemaker. Nate and Pat owned Willamette Security Systems, which they sold to Honeywell when they retired.
She was a member of Salem Alliance Church and had a passion for music, cross stitch, traveling in their motorhome, cooking, and enjoyed hosting meals at her home for friends and family.
Pat was survived by their daughter, Marsha Widmer, son, David (Dave) W. Widmer (LaVerne), son-in-law, Herbert (Skip) Buck, 2 foster sons: Dara Lo (Muy) and Davot Lo, 5 grandchildren: Joseph Buck, David R. Widmer (Jennifer), Rachel Buck (Haanah), Sarah Diehm (Derek), Jessica Widmer Bernhardt (Eduard), 21 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Widmer, parents, Erwin and Esther Penner, and brother Rodney Penner.
A double memorial service will be held for Nathan and Patricia Widmer at 10:00am on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in the main sanctuary at Salem Alliance Church.
