Patsy Cox

Patsy Maxine (Jackson) Cox, 83, passed away on December 19, 2022 surrounded by her husband and their 3 daughters at her home in Salem, Oregon. She is survived by her husband James of 67 years, and daughters Torie Bischopink, Jamie Cox, and Kelly Beard, 7 grandchildren: Adam and Bobby Cade, Billy, Ryan and Ali Guenther, Duncan Bischopink and Jessica Garcia, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Patsy was born October 11, 1939 in Ballinger, Texas to Willy and Mack Jackson. Patsy and James married on January 20, 1955. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings; Sisters: Juanita Jones, Geneva Teague, Lucille (aka Jody) Campbell, and Doris Faulk; Brothers: JC Jackson, James Jackson, Floyd Jackson and Wayne Jackson; and grandson Chad Guenther.

Patsy was a straightforward, generous, and caring person. Patsy and James’ home was always open to family and friends. There were often entire families of relatives residing in their home during their long or short transitional times. There was always a pot of coffee, a home cooked meal and great conversation for anyone stopping by.

Patsy was at her best when she felt needed; taking care of others, cooking meals, caring for her grandchildren, as well as offering sage advice. She loved traveling the world, her rose garden, and she fiercely loved her family.

A celebration of life will be held May 27, 2023, 1:00pm at Stayton Community Center, 400 W Virginia St, Stayton, OR 97383.
