Richard Botta was born July 19, 1953 in Havana Cuba. He came to the United States in 1961 as part of the Peter Pan Evacuation from Cuba. Later that year his parents arrived and they all moved to Salem, Oregon.
Richard graduated from North High School in 1971 and started his career in health care. Some years later he married and had a lovely daughter, Ariel.
Richard loved to cook, making huge dinners for family and friends was his pleasure. He loved his home, family and friends. He loved to camp at Beverly Beach and could be seen making sand castles. Dancing was a big part of his life and he could not pass up a good Disco song. “And your point is…Spare me” is something you would often hear from Richard if you were around him for any length of time.
Richard is survived by his wife Loretta, daughters Ariel Botta & Jacqulin Arndt both of Salem, a granddaughter Olivia and son-in-law Andrew Arndt.
Richard will be remembered for his love of family. Papa you will always remain in our heart, Your loving family.
