Richard Alan Reno

He was born in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland on May 15, 1952. He grew up traveling the world as the son of Army Chief Warrant Officer III, Raymond Lloyd Reno and Annie Beth Stewart. Both who preceded him in death.

Rick graduated from San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara, California in 1971. He moved to Salem in 1979, where he met and married Rebecca “Becky” Witcher, on June 20, 1981. Rick worked as an industrial mechanic and millwright for Del Monte Corp, Chiquita and finally Agri Pac, retiring in 2008.

Until he became ill, Rick was an active member of the Oregon Mounted Posse, Polk County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse, the Oregon Association of Mounted Posses and a longtime member of the Salem Saddle Club. In addition he participated in the Elks Club, Little League, Boy Scouts of America and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed shooting sports, cooking, grilling, and spending time with good friends and family.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca, daughter Katie and son Craig Reno, along with his brothers Donald and Robert Reno, 1 niece and 3 nephews all of Salem, Oregon.

Funeral services for Rick will be held on Friday, January 5th, 2018 at 11:00 am, at:

Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
