Rj passed away unexpectedly at home on May 15, 2026, with his beloved wife Amanda by his side. Together for 21 years, Rj often referred to Amanda as his “sweetie pie,” a reflection of the deep love and devotion he had for her. Their bond was the center of his life.
Rj found joy in traveling, camping, and riding his Harley. Long motorcycle rides brought him a sense of peace and freedom unlike anything else. He and Amanda were eagerly looking forward to attending their second Sturgis Rally together later this year.
An intelligent and curious man, Rj loved reading and listening to podcasts. His passion for technology began in the 1980s when his stepfather bought him his first computer. What started as a fascination became a fulfilling 20-year career as a computer networking technician for the State of Oregon, work he truly loved and took great pride in.
Rj was known for his gift of conversation and his compassionate spirit. He never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and heard. His laughter, stories, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rj is survived by his loving wife, Amanda; his sons, Derek, Nick, and Jacob; his daughters, Madison and Sadie; and his sisters, Michelle and Kim.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, beginning at 12:00 PM at the Fryman Hideout, located at 1949 Oak Tree Lane, Keizer, Oregon 97303.
