Rodney Wayne Bevans

Rodney Wayne Bevans, age 72, of Keizer, Oregon passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019.

Rod was born January 11, 1947, in Roseburg, Oregon to Emily Denia (Payne) and Jack Russell Bevans. The family moved to Eugene, Oregon when Rod was in the second grade. He attended school in Eugene, and after graduating from high school, he was drafted into the Army. He was a tank commander and served in Germany and Korea.

Rod married Linda Pierce in 1969. Together they raised two children: Matt Bevans and Chad Bevans. Rod worked in Portland as a quality control auditor at Siemens Energy and Automation for over 20-years. The family moved to Keizer, Oregon in 2006, and Rod worked for Quest Diagnostics until he retired.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Matt (Mandy) Bevans, and Chad Bevans; and six grandchildren.

A funeral service for Rodney will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 862 45th Ave. NE, Salem, OR 97301. A graveside service will occur Monday, October 14, 2019 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt Scott Blvd, Happy Valley, OR 97086.

I’ve known Rod as a neighbor and fellow church member for many years. In those years he made great progress in his life. I believe he passed at the height of his progress and we could all follow his example.
