Salem ~ Ruby passed away on August 24. She was born in Fairland, Oklahoma, and was 95 years old. She and her former husband farmed in the Willamette Valley for many years. She was a wonderful cook, homemaker and loved her family. Ruby was survived by her brother John Henry Whipkey of Fairland, OK; son, James Lawson of Bend, OR; daughter, Dixie Lawson of Federal Way, WA; seven grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 28, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., both at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Home, 1350 Commercial Street SE, Salem (503) 581-3911.
