Saundra Sue Holman

October 18, 1943March 22, 2020

Saundra took much comfort in her strong faith in God, and lived, and taught her children to live, by the golden rule of treating others as she wanted to be treated, which was with respect and kindness. She was exceptionally kind-hearted and helpful, and always put her best efforts into whatever she was doing. Her loving character led her to a caretaker career and volunteering at her church and the Salvation Army, which included helping provide meals to needy people in the community. She enjoyed the beach, having tea parties, and most of all spending time with her family. She had a tremendous talent for knitting and crocheting and spent much of her time over the past few years knitting and crocheting baby hats, booties and blankets that she donated locally.

Saundra was preceded in death by “the love of her life,” Stephen R. McDonald; son, David E. Buchanan, Jr.; and parents, John and Wilma Toews. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tracy & Matt Rasmussen; daughter and son-in-law, Ginarai & Ray Myrick; stepson, Darrell McDonald; sister, Jackie Knapp; brother, John Toews; aunt, Joanne Borsberry; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She gave unconditional love to her family and friends, and she will be tremendously missed.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Holman family.

It was my great pleasure to have known Saundra. She was so welcoming and kind. Her love for her family and her Lord were the source of many of our conversations. As we shared grandchildren and great grandchildren, we had much to celebrate. I will miss her.
