

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Gloria Jean (Tablanza) Flores, daughter; Stephanie Jean Flores (John Jepson) two sons; Stephen Lee Flores, Jr., and Benjamin Manuel Flores, two granddaughters; Jasmine Cheianne Flores and Nevaeh Christina Flores, his brothers; James William Battise, Orville Dwayne (Peggy) Flores, Randall Perry Flores, and Anthony (Debra) Jucutan, his sister; Lucilla Kaye (Lloyd) Stainbrook, Brother-in-Laws; Manuel Tablanza , Lee (Debbie) Tablanza, and sister-in-law Esther (Shawn) McKown; many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews along with the many that he took under his wing and cared and loved because they were special and just like family (you know who you are).
Stephen grew up in the Salem area and attended Salem schools. He attended Salem Vocational-Technical School (Chemeketa) and became a certified welder. He worked in Dallas at Cattepiller building large machinery and became a supervisor and a very proficient welder.
He loved playing and watching sports. He especially enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing video games, and paintball with the Team (family and friends). He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting, barbequing and spending time with family, friends and Pow Wows and attending Siletz Elders’ gatherings.
Big Steve was a devoted husband—he loved his wife and children. He was proud of his family and treasured his family and friends with all his heart.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3rd from 12-5pm at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 4th at 1:00 pm at the Siletz Community Center followed by burial at the Paul Washington Cemetery in Siletz.
