Teresa Mae Whitehurst

SALEM - Teresa passed peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 27th at the age of 92. She was the eldest of 6 children, born to Charles E. and Anna M. Greene in Twin Falls, Id. She was a life long member of the Catholic Church.

After retiring, living in their RV, she and her husband traveled extensively for 11 years. Her faith, family and friends were very important to her. She enjoyed potlucks in the back yard, playing cards, sewing and knitting among many other things. She kept her mind sharp by playing Sudoku.

She was the matriarch of the family. Preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Gerald of 62 years, daughter Roxane Toney, brothers Charles Greene and Ray Greene. Leaving sisters Cecelia Evoniuk and Margaret Dunn, brother Larry Greene. Also leaving children: Jerryann Sorensen (Salem), Dan Whitehurst (Stayton), Jim Whitehurst (Redmond), Susan Hiebert (Rancho Mirage, CA), Ruth Cinquini (Salem), Rita Jacobsen (Independence), Rosemary Logan (Round O, SC), and their spouses and son-in-law Butch Toney (Salem). 23 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She leaves many other friends and loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 721 Chemeketa St. NE, in Salem on Tuesday January 8, 2013 at 1:30 PM. A luncheon will be served after the mass at the church.
