

He was born on February 28, 1945, in Pendleton, Oregon, to Lee and Helen “Celeste” (Friedman) Temple.
Tim was raised in Pendleton and graduated from Pendleton High School. He went on to attend the University of Oregon joining Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He played defensive back on the football team |from 1963 to 1966.Dubbed the “Kamikaze Kid” by a sports announcer, he brought fearlessness to his play, and a knack for blocking kicks. In his senior year, he was named team MVP and received Honorable Mention All-American recognition. While finishing his master’s degree, he stayed on the team as a position coach.
Tim taught and coached at the high school level in Longview, Washington; Pendleton; and Salem, and later coached defensive backs at Portland State University. In 1975 he began a career as a Realtor and property developer in Salem.
He married Jean Pedersen in 1967 and divorced in 1995. He enjoyed a long-term relationship with Jean Bacic of Salem. He was a fun-loving father and grandfather who treasured family, friendship, and the outdoors. His many interests included fishing, golf, bird hunting, camping, skiing, scuba diving, and watching sports. He was a faithful member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, a member of the Order of the O, and a lifelong ticket holder of University of Oregon football.
He is survived by his brother, Mike Temple; children, Erin Temple, Jessica Patron, and Tim Temple; his grandchildren, Ethan, Sarah, Jackson, Allison, Madelyn, and Emilee; and his beloved dog, Evie.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 5, 2026, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Salem, Oregon. A burial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on May 6, 2026, at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton, Oregon.
