

Wesley was born on January 3, 1933 in Saint Ignatius, Montana and was the son of Joseph and Florence (Pelitier) Fisher. He attended school in Arlee, Montana and later enlisted in the United States Army. He served during the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge at the rank of Sergeant.
On February 21, 1957, he married Sally Ortega in Homedale, Idaho. They resided in Caldwell and Nampa, Idaho. In 1965 they moved to Salem, Oregon where Wesley worked as a Supervisor for the City of Salem Parks and Recreation. He also served a Marion County Sheriff Reserve Deputy and supervised the Inmate Work crew. He retired in 1997 after 32 years of service.
Wesley was a family man who was very proud of his Native American Heritage. He enjoyed Pow-wows and Tribal arts and crafts. He also enjoyed watching the Seattle Seahawks and the Seattle Mariners, going the casino, playing bingo, traveling home to Montana to visit family and his Wednesday Coffee trips to Lancaster Mall where he met his retired buddies.
Wesley is survived by his wife Sally of Salem, children: Fred (wife, Kathy) Fisher of Salem, Shyla Fisher of Salem, Jeanette (husband, Bill) Bauman of Salem and Lisa Fisher of Salem along with 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, George, Bill, Al, Pat, Canny, Lucille and Virginia. He is also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Celena.
A vigil will be held on Tuesday, January 20 starting at 12:00 pm thru Thursday morning at 9:00 am at the Long House located in Grande Ronde, Oregon. A funeral service will be on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11:00 am at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen Funeral Home in Salem followed by a committal service at Belcrest Memorial Park. Contributions in memory of Wesley may be made to the Union Gospel Mission. Howell, Edwards, Doerksen Funeral Home is handling the arrangement.
