Bill will always be remembered for the bright and witty person he was. He always had a smile, grin, or comment, depending on what the conversation was about. I remember the day he & his daughter Kathy 'sneaked' out of the house and came to the Hayesville McD's for coffee. Later, he said Kathy's Mom, who was still sleeping, woke up to find them gone without her, and that "she was not happy." Even though Bill had a Handicap card to hang on his mirror, he seldom used it, saying, "there might be someone else that needed the space more than him." We loved to hear his stories about his Army days, how he was determined to do everything he was told to do, and to do it even better than was expected of him, thereby gaining himself much favor. He was generous and thoughtful and we will miss him, too.
