Alyssa burst into the world prematurely early Saturday morning March 13, 1999 with attitude and a lively spirit. Alyssa’s passion for art came from her Mama. As a child, Alyssa sharpened her drawing skills on her parents’ freshly painted walls; thank you Sharpee. From there, she moved on to oil and water painting, charcoals or any medium she could find.
Alyssa was such a loving and caring person. She was willing to listen to anyone who needed to be heard and willing to hug anyone who needed a hug. Her lovely voice and caring touch could put anyone at ease. She loved being a friend to anyone who needed a friend. She epitomized the giving spirit.
Alyssa loved animals and was a little notorious for bringing strays home. In fact, she brought another kitty home this past weekend! Her kitty Emily emulates Alyssa’s gentle loving ways and loves people the way her mama did.
Alyssa loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time with her Grandma and Grandpa Shupe, along with aunts, uncles and cousins at their cabin in Hidaho (this was Alyssa’s name for Idaho). She enjoyed taking road trips with her dad in their assortment of vehicles such as the Westfalia. Alyssa truly loved and had close relationships with all of her cousins. She was such a love to her grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Alyssa attended Spring Lane Elementary, Bonneville Junior High and Cottonwood High School. In High School she thrived on the Honor roll with art being her favorite classes. At the end of her Senior year, her art was chosen to be showcased at Cottonwood High art department. Alyssa also used her voice to create art. In her early teens she sang with the International Children’s Choir and also with German Chorus Harmonie, celebrating the heritage of her Dad’s family.
For the last 18 months, Alyssa apprenticed and then became a certified tattoo artist at Fallen Angel tattoo parlor. Not only did she enjoy tattooing but her art was applied by the other tattoo artists as well.
Alyssa is preceded in death by her uncle Carson Shupe, grandma Peggy Shupe, stepfather Phil Oviatt and grandma Doris (Schatzi) Salm. She is survived by her father Rodney Salm, mother Kristy Farfan and stepfather Cisco Farfan, grandfather Rolf Salm, grandfather Steve Shupe and step grandmother Sherry Shupe and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Special thanks to Michelle Salm and Danielle Marchant for providing their nurturing influence.
