Anthony “Tony” L. Crawley, 58, passed away September 20, 2020, after a brave battle with cancer. Tony, a beloved family man, and friend was born June 30, 1962, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, to Lewis M. Crawley and Dawn T. Nordloh. After graduating from Highland High School in SLC UT, he attended Beauty School in Butte MT. He married his wife, Amy in 1997, and their son, Rowan, was born in 2005.
Anthony was very passionate about his profession. He felt fortunate to be able to do what he loved for nearly 40 years. He began his career in Salt Lake City in the early 80’s, then he moved to New York City, where he mastered his craft. In 2000 Tony and Amy moved to Seattle, where Anthony spent nearly 20 years of his career at Gene Juarez in downtown Seattle. He was a beloved figure by his colleagues and his clients. He was known for his amazing blowouts and meticulous cuts. He ended his career where he began, in Salt Lake City. Anthony was a lover of history, anything British, and a fan of classic rock music. He was known for his humility, chivalry, sense of style, quirky wit, positive nature, especially during his fight with cancer, and his kind and patient spirit as a father, husband, son, brother, and friend.
Anthony had a fantastic outlook on life and showed gratitude for every kind deed. Always sharing a smile with everyone he met, he was optimistic about everything. It didn't matter that he was battling stage four metastatic prostate cancer; he still helped his disabled son, Rowan, with his everyday living needs and took him on daily bike rides to the community park. May we all remember the advice he lived by; “Do the best with what you have to work with,” “Acceptance is the key to happiness,” “It all works out in the end,” and “Keep your big mouth shut, and stay out of the break room!”.
Anthony is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Dawn, and stepfather, Robert L. Nordloh and survived by his wife Amy, son Rowan, stepmother, Mary Alice McLeod, his brother Jeff Crawley (son Jake & daughter Emilee), and his two sisters, Elizabeth Nordloh and Heather Calkins (husband Scott and sons, Ben and Sam).
