

Beverly Ann Carter Whitney died on December 22, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah, she was 80 years old. She was born January 27, 1932 in Beaumont, Texas, attended Rice University and the University of Utah, graduating from Utah with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. She married Hardin Austin Whitney, Jr. ("Din") on February 8, 1964 who survives her. Beverly is also survived by children: Denise (David) Gibson; Telle Whitney (Bill Scholtz); Charles Whitney; Sharon (John) Klinetop; Ann Bradshaw; Kathryn (Eric) Hartman; Carol (Richard) Walton and 7 grandchildren.
Beverly was a wonderful woman who charmed people with her amazing musical abilities and sociable personality. She loved music and played the piano all her life. While Beverly attended Rice University she was chosen Homecoming Queen. The only thing Beverly loved more than music was her gregarious family who shared her passion for the arts. They grew up going to symphonies, ballets, and operas. Beverly taught piano to many students for several years. She was a member of the Salt Lake City Arts Council and was later employed by the Arts Council. Beverly loved playing tennis, watching PBS, reading, playing Bridge, and was known as an exceptional cook. Beverly was loved and shall be dearly missed.
Services will be held at Evans & Early Mortuary (574 E. 100 S.) on Friday, December 28, at 2:00 pm. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. The Interment will be held immediately following at St. Mark's Episcopalian Cathedral (231 E. 100 S.).
