Lao Tzu said "The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long."

Cameron Charles Hinton, age 34, passed away June 14, 2020 in a tragic car accident entering a westbound onramp on I-215 near 2000 E. Cameron was born on July 7th, 1985 to Sylvia Barney and Michael Hinton.

Cameron wasn’t afraid of hard work, his work ethic was unparalleled. Throughout his life he’d held jobs most would run from, and all with a smile. He’d hung from the tallest buildings as a window cleaner, helped manage busy restaurants, and prepared meals for patients with varieties of special diets and needs.

Cameron enjoyed time with friends, camping, fishing, and working out. Cameron was selfless and always willing to help. He brought an ecstatic lively presence to any room with his bright smile, he was someone who carried a heart of gold on his sleeve. Cameron's beard was his pride and joy, and like his beard, he was always trying to grow and improve as a person.

Cameron is survived by wife Sierra Stout and fur babies Jay, Patrón, Gia, and Fiona; parents Sylvia Barney (Brent Barney) and Michael Hinton; siblings, Alex Hinton Kuba (Kat Kuba), Taylor Hinton (Bonnie McBroon), step-siblings Jenna Anderson (Jeremy Anderson), and Shana Sherlund (Erik Sherlund), 5 nephews, 1 niece. He is preceded in death by grandparents; Louis Nelson, Erma Nelson, as well as Glendon M. Hinton Sr., and Erma Hinton.

Outdoor services will be held in his honor at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84106 on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11:00 am. We will be uploading a recording to www.facebook.com/wasatchlawnmemorial. Cameron would love to have all who can make it attend.

When my wife and I first moved into the neighborhood, Cameron and Sierra were two of the first neighbors that we were able to meet and become familiar with. Both of them are two of the best neighbors you could ever hope for. Every interaction I've ever had with him was positive, and he was always a neighbor I genuinely enjoyed visiting with. Be it working in our yards during the weekend, rebuilding our shared fence after pranksters decided to bodyslam through it, or shoveling our driveways, he was always someone I enjoyed seeing. When my wife and I brought home our first dogs, Cameron and Sierra brought over a lovely little gift basket with a few treats and toys. These things may seem small, but they are memories and experiences I'll always appreciate. He left a positive impact on me, and my only regret is that I wish I knew him better. He'll be missed.

Cameron was always the kindest most positive person. I’m his oldest brother (8 years older) ever since he was born he was just wonderful. One time when I was nine I was having a rough day and my father said to me “ don’t let this get to you. Here, hang out with Cameron “ then he put my baby brother up on my bunk bed .. he cheered me right up !! And did many many more times in our lives ! He was helpful , considerate and always had a smile to share . It’s so sad this world has to go on without such a wonderful person in it but Cameron would tell us that this is ok and would want all of us to continue being happy and have the best day . I sure love that kid and will always do my best to honor him by working hard and staying positive. Love you Cameron, always
