Clarence Albert Mofford Jr.
January 22, 1941 – June 4, 2021
Clarence, or "Spud" as his friends and family called him, was born to Clarence Mofford and Wilma J Dalton on January 22, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Most of Spud's young life was spent traveling around towns in Nevada, Major's Station, Osceola, and Ely. Around 1946 his parents moved to Las Vegas area to start up a sawmill operation with the US Forest Service in Lee's Canyon about 50 miles from Las Vegas. Spud stayed there with his family until he started school in Vegas Heights where his family had built a home. When school was out each year, he went to work back at the sawmill. He loved that place. Later in life, he helped his brother to disassemble and recycle the metal from the sawmill to be sold at the scrapyard. Clarence "Spud" Mofford is survived by his sister Edith (Roy) Lenzi of Salt Lake City, Utah, his brother Samuel (Colleen) Mofford of Las Vegas, Nevada, and a half-sister Loreley (Cliff) Fausett of Salt Lake City, Utah as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Spud will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 pm on June 8, 2021 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park 3401 S Highland Dr. Salt Lake City, Utah.
