Damon Jose Medina
January 9, 1983 – September 3, 2019
Damon Medina, beloved brother, father, son, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 3, 2019.
Damon was born on January 9, 1983, in Salt Lake City to Jerry and Ruth Medina. He was known as a God-loving man and was loved deeply by many. Above all things, he enjoyed spending time with his son Samuel. Damon put everyone’s needs above his own. His laughter was contagious, his smile irreplaceable. He enjoyed getting the youth together to play basketball at church on Sunday nights, loved being with his family, camping, fishing, softball and quality time spent with those he cared about. Damon will be remembered most for his kind, loving heart and reaching out to check on others, no matter how busy he was. He could find humor in any circumstance and would use that humor to uplift others. He brought joy to all situations, and too many people.
Damon loved brownie sundaes, the X-files, Megaplex Theaters, the Original Star Trek, watching the San Francisco 49ers and the Utah Jazz. He also loved Pizza Hut breadsticks, gummy fruit snacks, and speckled jelly beans.
Damon is survived by his mother Ruth Medina, his son Samuel Damon Medina (mother Aubrey Willey), brothers Cody and Jerry Medina, Sister Christine Medina, Nephew Jose Zavala, Niece Maya Zavala, and several other nieces and nephews, cousins, family members and friends. We loved Damon very much and he will be greatly missed.
Services for Damon will be held on Wednesday September 11, 7:00PM at First Baptist 777 South 1300 East, Salt Lake City with a viewing from 5-6:30PM, burial will be on Thursday at Mt. Olivet at 10:00AM.

This is for my beloved & missed first cousin, Damon. Even though we lived in different states, and we missed a great deal of eachothers lives growing up. As children we ask big questions, to make sense of this world, as we become adults; we must walk our own path, and find our own way, but I always figured as we loved & lived, and went our own ways. Eventually we will all wind up in the same place in the end; with our Heavenly father. I want to say, as time goes on, our families get much more emptier, in this world, with loss of loved ones.
Love you, Damon (RIP) You will be missed, but remembered by loved ones & family.
Always, and forever your loving cousin, Niome M. Medina Pacheco-Chavez

My heart aches for Damon's family. Damon and I shared amazing moments together, he was a big part of my life and my son's life. Damon was a big kid, always playful and eating candy late at night. I'd often see him at the gym and he would hug me and we would talk about life. I hope the family finds peace in this time of loss, he was
very loved. RIP Damon.

I’m so sorry for the pain and loss that you are feeling. We were so blessed to have Damon touch our lives and create wonderful memories with us all. Tia, I cannot imagine what it is like to lose a child at any age, cause they are always our babies no matter how grown they are. Just keep living, until you feel alive again. May God comfort you and Bless you. We will all keep Damon’s memory alive, so that when Samuel becomes a man himself, he will know what a wonderful soul his father truly was. I loved Damon, and I will miss his smiles and hugs. May he Rest In Peace, Amen ...
Much love always , lita

Damon was my neighbor and friend for the past 3 years. We would always talk about life and stuff, listen to each other's problems. He was such a good guy that I will truly miss. I remember times of lighting fireworks with him and Sam. He taught Samuel to always say "hi neighbor". Sam would give hugs to my wife each time he and Damon saw us. He really loved Sam and we could see that so much from him. Me and my wife will really miss him. Sending much love to you, Damon, and Samuel as well. -Patrick & Aleja
