Daniel Solomon Temkin

December 13, 1951September 7, 2019

Danny was born in Montevideo, Uruguay on December 13, 1951. At the age of 12, the family moved to Israel. His only Hebrew words were “orange juice” and “please”. He spent the next few years in the Navy High School and then served in the Navy. Instead of taking time off after, he joined the Merchant Marines and sailed the world. He married Tamar Rigler, and soon had a baby boy named Noam. After about a year, the USA started calling his name. He followed his heart and moved the family to Los Angeles. With $4,000 and a tenacious never-take-no-for-an-answer attitude, Danny started on his new path and never looked back. Over the next 42 years, he built, nurtured and grew his business. He absolutely loved everyone that was part of the “Temkin family” and took great pride in knowing he could provide a livelihood for them and their families. Danny also grew his immediate family. Karine was born to Danny and Tamar, then after a divorce, Danny married Cimbria Anderson and they had two children, Krystal and Kito. Danny is survived by his children and 4 grandchildren- Avner, Celia, Mia, and Olivia and of course, his wife Sandra and her two sons, Juan Pablo and Mauricio.

Aside from spending time with his family, Danny LOVED his dogs, Apollo and Gipsy. He enjoyed driving down to his ranch, breathing that clean mountain air, and feeding and brushing his horses.

His spirit, which has always been larger than life, is now free. It is in all of us and everywhere.

Services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow service at B'nai Israel Cemetery, 1021 East 4th Ave., Salt Lake City, Utah.

  • Sandra Sanchez Temkin, Wife
  • He is also survived by his children: Noam, Karine, Krystal and Kito, Sandra's sons Juan Pablo and Mauricio as well as his 4 grandchildren who will all cherish his memory.

The hardest day was to say goodbye to Danny yesterday as god made him then broke the mold as his best ingredients were used. He was bigger than life, a heart of gold, inspirational, a hero to many and a brother to me who I loved so dearly. There will never be another man like him and no soul as gentle. I have a shining star 🌟 in heaven that I look up to and still talk to. He will be in my heart forever and I wish peace, love & strength for his family specially Sandra. ❤️

I had the privledge of supplying material for Danny at his home in SLC. He took his time to come out and visit with us and treated us like we were his long lost friends. His creativity and talent were iconic. His positive personality was infectious. Though my interaction was brief, he made a lasting impression on me and I too will cherish his memory.

There is no one in the world like Danny, he truly is one of a kind!! I only have the fondest memories of him. He threw the best parties, from New years to Christmas and work parties, and my favorite, his and Sandra's wedding. I remember how much i loved watching him dance with Sandra; the tenderness and love, and of course, always having fun. But what I think about most when it comes to Danny was his love and generosity to all his friends. He treated us with so much warmth and kindness always, like we are his family. He was very sweet and fun with our kids, who also think the world of him. We will always love Danny and be so grateful that we had the opportunity to know him and be a small part of his amazing life.

From the time we met Danny and Sandra in Israel we knew they were special. His knowledge of just about everything was amazing. My wife and I were lucky to call him a dear friend.
Our hearts are just crushed for the whole family and his animals.
Please know how special he still is and how much we love Sandra.
This is a hard loss for so many that will love him forever.
