David Lester Fry
Born October 6, 1928
David Lester Fry completed his mortal journey on March 29, 2020, and was reunited with his sweetheart, JoAnn.
He was the first born of Margaret Taylor Gibbs and William Lester Fry and grew up primarily in Salt Lake City, Utah. David learned the value of hard work at a young age and was always industrious. He graduated in Chemical Engineering from the University of Utah in 1949 and got a job at Chevron Research and Development Company in Berkeley, California. This is where he met his future wife, JoAnn Miller, and they were married in 1953. An opportunity came to move to New York to work for Caltex Petroleum Corporation. The newlyweds first lived in Flushing before settling in Great Neck, New York. They raised 5 children and were very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. David loved to travel both on business and for adventure. Work provided his family with the opportunity to live in The Netherlands, South Africa, Bahrain and Dallas, Texas. David’s hobbies included woodworking and genealogy. In his final years he enjoyed listening to beautiful music and singing with his family. He leaves behind 2 siblings, 5 children, 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. (photo attached)
