Born on November 28, 1934 in Preston, Idaho the 8th of 10 children of Parley and Mary Wilson Condie. DeLyle passed away following complications from surgery on January 17,
2014.
Upon entering the University of Utah he played basketball every year and, as a Runnin’ Ute, was named First Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-American.
It was in college he met the love of his life, Judy Christensen. They were married December 1959 prior to leaving to attend law school at the University of Michigan. Upon graduation,
DeLyle served in the JAG corps of the US Air Force.
As a member of the LDS church, he served a mission in Australia, and while there organized and played for the Mormon Yankees team. They played and defeated many of the 1956 Olympic teams.
Throughout his life, he held a number of church callings; his favorite was as bishop of the second-organized Singles ward in the LDS church.
A true supporter of the U of U, he served as a member of the Alumni Board. He also served as chairman of the Utah Chapter of the American Diabetes Association.
In 2005, DeLyle and Judy moved to Australia where he served as Assistant International Legal Council for the LDS Church.
With an active law practice and enjoyment of foreign travel, DeLyle was always busy, but his family always came first. He was involved in their lives and will be missed by his survivors: wife, Judy Condie, Christopher (Anne) Condie, Liz (Stan) Roberts, Jennifer Bailey, Adam (Diana) Condie, and Mikel (Jason) Curry; 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and his surviving sister, Norma Lisonbee.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 23, 2014 at noon at the Mt. Olympus Stake Center; Address: 4176 Adonis Dr. SLC, Utah. (4176 South 3930 East) Friends may visit family on Wednesday the 22nd from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Dr. SLC Utah.
