Donald J Fehr (Don) passed away peacefully on March 2, 2017 in his home with his sweetheart by his side. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah November 21, 1929 to Harold Christian and Mary Johnston Fehr. He married Caroline Elizabeth Whelan on November 15, 1948.
Don was a photographer extraordinaire. He and Mom were the owner of Fehr’s Photography for 40 years. Don was a master of portraits, weddings, scenics, flowers and commercial photography. He had a love of fishing with his family in the Uinta Mountains. Don loved to camp in the Boulder Mountains with family and his buddies. He went on photo field trips with his camera club. Don and his buddies would wait for hours for the perfect picture. (People thought they were crazy!) He learned and worked in the upholstery industry. He Owned a Texaco gas and service station for 3 years. The love of his life was Sox (Mom). Dad and Mom worked side by side at the photography studio. They loved to fish, camp, travel and take pictures together. Dad was the wind beneath his children’s wings.
Don is survived by his wife, Caroline; children, Vickie (Dennis) Hartle, Mike Fehr, Julie (Hal) Turnbow, Eric (Tammy) Fehr, 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his great-grandson, Owen Hartle.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at the East Millcreek 11th Ward, 2702 East Evergreen Ave. (3435 So.). Friends and family are invited to visit Sunday evening 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 So. 2300 East, and at the church Monday morning 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the service. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
