“Frank the hippie cowboy”

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother Frank Lewis passed away peacefully at home Saturday March 27th surrounded by his family with all the love. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Vilma and Lyman Lewis. They moved to Olympus Cove, Utah where he grew up. He helped build his parents retirement home in Park City, Utah. He was very proud of that home.

Frank loved traveling and being out in nature, which started as a child traveling the country with his mom, dad, and sister. He wanted to retire and become a camp host so he could continue to enjoy the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting with his dad and friends. For a long time he was very proud to be a part of the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Master.

His whole life he was passionate about music, whether it was listening or playing. He played flute and guitar, and enjoyed teaching his children along the way. The guitar was a big passion for him, he was always learning new songs and enjoyed playing.

“He was the dad he didn’t have to be.” - David

“He loved playing with his dog Sasha and the guitar.” – Tori

“Loved you once, love you still, always have always will.” Theresa

Frank is survived by his wife Theresa Lewis, children Franklin Lewis & Jillian Lewis (Shawn), grandchild Kaitlyn Price, step children David Gillette & Tori Steffensen, step grandchildren Cameron and Devin Cook and sister Cindy Olpin. He was preceded in death by both his parents, step daughter Angela Hallet and step grandson Donovan Hallet.

We will be holding a celebration of life to honor him on April 24th from 2-5pm at 3667 South 6885 West. In lieu of flowers our family ask you to donate to the Cancer Research Institute. https://www.cancerresearch.org

Wonderful memories are mine as I reflect on the many hikes that I would walk with Frank, behind the home of the Lewis family at base of Mt. Olympus. We would walk on trails that would lead us to the big water tank. From there, Frank would show me trails that would lead to many other beautiful sights. I remember vividly a beautiful lookout, that allows us to see the entire Salt Lake Valley.
The trip to Disneyland with the Lewis family was a memorable event that I will always remember. I remember the games that we would play in the car with Cindy, Frank, and Vilma.
We love you Frank and thank you for sharing your love of nature and life with us.
