

Gary was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 1, 1941. Gary attended West High School and the University of Utah. He also served in the U.S. Army in Germany for two years. He married Suzanne Graham on April 26, 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple.
He worked at Kennecott Copper in Salt Lake and for the U.S. Postal Service in Salt Lake, Portland, and Las Vegas until he retired July 21, 2005. He was a dedicated employee who never missed a day of work. He was recognized for this and received many awards.
Gary enjoyed being with family, traveling, and his model trains. He loved his wife dearly and together they shared many life experiences. Some of his greatest joys were celebrating the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He was respected by many and will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
Gary is survived by his wife Suzanne and his three sons, Gary Jay Brooks (Navin), Thomas Graham Brooks (Mitsuko) and Barry Scott Brooks (Brenda), as well as two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Amour. He also is survived by a sister Janet, and two brothers, Joe and Russell. He was preceded in death by his daughter Tamara Suzanne, his parents William and Vica, two sisters Edith and Raelynn and his brother Bruce.
A Viewing will be held Tuesday February 3, 2015 at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary in Salt Lake City, Utah at 9.00 AM with Graveside Services following at 10:00 AM. Condolences may be sent to www.wasatchlawn.com
