Gloria Halliday, age 88, passed away April 20, 2018, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the devoted wife of Herbert H. Halliday Jr. They were married in 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. She had six children, 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loves dearly, and who love her in return.
Closeness to family was a great blessing throughout her life. She grew up close to her cousins and always kept track of family members. She graduated from Granite High School and attended the University of Utah, studying music, and later in life, education. She was an excellent pianist, accompanying many soloists who appreciated her talents. She taught piano lessons to many. She was always proud of their musical accomplishments.
A member of the LDS Church, Mom served in many auxiliaries, but served longest as organist and choir accompanist in the wards she attended. She continued in this capacity until her eyesight rendered her unable to read music. Mom not only loved the gospel of Jesus Christ, she lived it. Mom had unfailing faith in the Lord. She would often comment how much the Lord had blessed her throughout her life. She was vocal in defending what was right.
Mother was involved in family businesses throughout her life. She was ambitious, sound, caring, and exceptional in all her undertakings. She supported Dad and her parents in significant ways and was a steady hand in business matters and decisions.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, May 1, 2018 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT. Visitations will be held April 30, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and an hour prior to funeral services.
