Gregory A. Irvine, beloved father, brother, and uncle passed away peacefully on Monday, June 20, 2022 after a valiant struggle with both physical maladies and dementia. We are so grateful that he is now able to put aside his broken body and mind and be free.
Greg was born on January 2, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harry F. and Josephine Ajax Irvine. He grew up in the Highland Park area and Holladay, and graduated from Olympus High School.
Greg spent most of his adult life working at Stuart Electric Supply, working his last years there as credit manager.
He loved fishing, camping, water skiing, vintage trucks and cars, motorcycles, collecting vintage toys - especially trains -, holidays and decorating for them, and family get-togethers. In the last few years, before dementia robbed him of the ability, he loved going with his niece, Chrissy, on weekend motorcycle rides on their Harleys. He loved visiting with nephews and niece and their spouses and children. He thought of them as his own.
He is survived by his son, Travis, and two grandchildren, Ellie and Iowa; his brother Larry; sister and brother-in-law (who was like a brother to him) Kathy and Don Robison; and his niece and nephews and their families: Ryan and Tiffani Robison, JC, Caleb, Sam and Lena; David and Roseanna Robison; Chrissy and James Merlette; Matt and Codye Robison, Lily, Lucas, Lexi, Wesley, and Jack; Scott and Natalie Irvine, Jude and Finn. He is preceded in death by his parents and great-nephew, Ethan Robison.
A viewing will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
