1931 ~ 2013
Jack Wallace Edvalson, age 81, died March 7, 2013 in Murray, Utah. He was born June 2, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George Edvalson and Oneta Maddox. He attended Granite High School. Jack married Juanita “Nita” Buchanan on October 9, 1953 in Elko, Nevada they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City SLC Temple.
He loved working with his hands drawing and painting pictures, as well as woodworking, gardening and camping. The family was the center of his life. He also loved his 4th child, Oscar, the dachshund.
He served proudly in the Navy during the Korean conflict. Jack also loved to travel and read history. He is known as Papa because he was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife Nita of 59 years; children, Michael (Cristee) of Sandy, Utah, Sheri (Dennis) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Bradley (Teresa) of Spooner, Wisconsin; sister, Beverly Roylance of West Valley, Utah; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Barnes, brothers, Richard and Arthur.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 11, 2013 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, SLC. The family will greet friends from 5 – 7 pm, Sunday March 10, and Monday one hour prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made to www.wasatchlawn.com
