

James I. Griffith passed away on December 3, 2013. He was born July 11, 1924 in Ogden, Utah to Walter & Inez Marie Ingebretsen Griffith. He graduated from East High School and the University of Utah. He was a pilot in WWII stationed in England and Germany.Jimmy was a very independent and adventurous man. In his younger days, he was a world class skier and member of the U.S. Ski Team. He was a successful businessman, owning and operating Carpenter Paper Company for over 40 years. Deep sea fishing became one of his passions, taking him to Mexico, Panama, and Florida. He enjoyed showing everyone his latest catches, including a Tiger Shark and his famous Alligator Gars. Jimmy is survived by his beloved parrot, Sam. He is preceded in death by brothers, Richard and Alan Griffith and Sister Mildred Farnsworth.Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr. where friends may call one hour prior to services.
