Jeff was born on October 12, 1945, in Honolulu, Hawaii as the second of three children to Blaine and Louise Hill. He grew up in Lombard, Illinois and graduated from Willowbrook High School in 1963. Jeff attended Brigham Young University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Business Management in 1968.
He met his wife, DruAnn (Stevens) Hill, at Brigham Young University at a dance in the Wilkinson Center and they married on October 25, 1968. Jeff and DruAnn are the proud parents of their daughter Heather (Brian) Brimhall. They have three grandchildren: Hailey, Brayden and Ashlynn. Jeff also had strong ties with his brother’s children and their family in Tennessee: Kerry Wiggins, Barrie Hill and Garrett Hill. His father Blaine, mother Louise and brothers Darryll and Greg preceded him in death. Our love for Jeff is immeasurable and his loss is indescribably deep.
After Jeff and DruAnn married, they settled in Salt Lake City, Utah from 1968 to 2003. He spent most of his professional career working for Williams Companies – Northwest Pipeline Corporation (1976-2003). During his career at Northwest Pipeline, Jeff developed lifelong friendships and ended his time there as the Human Resource Manager. Jeff and DruAnn then moved to Tucson, Arizona to be close to family. There, Jeff worked as the personnel director for Kalil Bottling Company from 2004 to 2006.
In 2007 Jeff and DruAnn moved from Tucson to Pleasant View, Utah to retire and have resided in their Pleasant View home since. Jeff volunteered at the Red Cross and enjoyed serving on the Pleasant View planning commission.
Jeff was an avid golfer and regularly played wherever he lived. It was his way to relax, have fun, exercise and be with friends. He enjoyed participating in his Monday scramble at Remuda and his weekly tee time at Davis Park. Jeff began playing pickleball after retirement and often played in leagues and many pickup games. He taught his grandchildren how to play both golf and pickleball which are now cherished memories. He also taught them to cheer for the Chicago Cubs no matter what. Jeff would make new friends everywhere he went just by wearing his Cubs hat.
Jeff was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and diligently served in many callings. He was especially grateful for the memories made as executive secretary in the Cottonwood Heights 1st ward and as the finance clerk in the Pleasant View 9th ward. He volunteered weekly at the Ogden Temple, always serving humbly behind the scenes, never seeking the limelight.
Jeff was kind, optimistic, and as we learned this last year, a ferocious fighter. His quick wit and sarcastic personality had his family and friends laughing and on their toes with his jokes and one-liners. His greatest accomplishment was raising his daughter Heather and being the best Papa Jeff to his three grandchildren.
