Joan Margot Davis. Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend, passed away unexpectedly February 13th 2014. Joan was born December 10th 1953 in Provo, Utah to Robert and Margot Davis. She attended school in both Utah and Oregon, graduating from McMinnville High School in McMinnville Oregon. In 1980 she moved back to Utah to attend nursing school at Weber State, received her RN degree on June 10th 1983. Eight days later she married Brent Menlove. Together they had two beautiful children, Gary and Kyle.
She worked as a community nurse for many years, always becoming very close friends with her patients. She went above and beyond with some of her closest patients. Having them over for the holidays was not uncommon. In addition to nursing, Joan was also a very talented artist and craft builder. Her imagination was amazing. She always saw the artistic potential in what others might consider junk. Anyone who has one her rock creations considers themselves lucky. Her other hobbies included golf, fishing, traveling, play dates at the park with her grandson Dax, and of course her Dog Marley. Her family comes first attitude will be dearly missed, always the cornerstone of our family gatherings, she always had a plan for the next holiday or birthday on the calendar.
She is survived by her two children, Gary and Kyle, Grandson Dax, Mother Margot, Sister Dixie, Brothers Dennis (Mary Anne), Jim (Bonnie) and Dan (Clifta) as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her Father Robert, Aunt Sue, and Uncle Cliff.
Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance on Tuesday February 18th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Evans & Early Mortuary 574 E 100 S. A memorial service will be held on February 19th at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church 1070 S Foothill Drive. Friends and family may call 1 hour prior to services.
